Our annual family camp will take place from 14 – 17 September 2025, and will be held at Grand Kampar Hotel in Perak. This time, we’re pleased to have Pastor Craig Baxter from Hills Bible Church, Melbourne to be our guest speaker.

At this camp, we will be taking a broad overview of the book of Proverbs, where Pr. Craig will walk us through the major themes of this book and how we can apply it to our lives.

The opening chapter of Proverbs concludes with the exhortation, “…whoever listens to me (Wisdom) will dwell secure and will be at ease, without dread of disaster.” And so at this camp, we hope to attend to these very words as we gather and learn how to live a life of wisdom, for the hope that our days may be well with us in accordance to God’s will.

If you are interested in participating, please register via the form below. Registrations will close by the 1st of August. We look forward to seeing you at this camp!

*Discounted fee terms and conditions:

  1. Family Discount (10%) – applicable to young families with children age 17 and under. Discount is only applicable when family is staying together in one room.
  2. Student Price RM290 – applicable to students up to tertiary level.
  3. These two discounts are mutually exclusive, they cannot be stacked.

FAQ

This camp is meant for anyone who desires to immerse themselves in the study of God’s Word for a few days, and to fellowship with like-minded believers.

If you are new to Christianity and are exploring, this camp can be just as beneficial for you as a platform to learn about our community and our beliefs through the talks and the activities.

In short, we welcome all who are interested to join us at this camp.

There is a form below this page where you can initiate the registration process.

As part of our efforts to streamline the registration process, registrations are done by rooms. In other words, we expect people to sort out and coordinate among themselves on who to room with and designate a room representative to register on behalf of the whole room.

If you are a single camper who is unsure of who to room with, please refer to the more detailed answer tab we have provided on single camper registration.

To reiterate, the family discount (10%) is applicable for young families with children age 17 and under staying together in one room. It is mutually exclusive with the student discount and cannot be stacked.

If you are registering as a young family, just proceed to fill in the form for your family by selecting the number of pax and provide all the necessary info within the form.

The discount will be applied once your registration info (i.e. children ages) meets the criteria stipulated and the discount option will appear for you to select.

To reiterate, we encourage campers to coordinate rooming amongst themselves where possible before signing up.

However, if you are unfamiliar with the various participating church communities and are signing up alone, you may select the “1 Adult” option found in the form and indicate your room-mate preferences in the remarks field. The committee will sort you with other single campers accordingly.

By default, 1 Adult sign-ups will be assigned quad sharing, but depending on availability, campers may be assigned to triple deluxe instead and are expected to pay the triple deluxe fee. We advise you to prepare your budget based on the triple deluxe fee if possible, the assignments will be confirmed latest by 1st August.

We have no restrictions towards international participants as long as slots are still available. However, please be informed that there will be a RM30 tourism tax added on top of the camp fees for international individuals.

Additionally, please note that internationals are expected to arrange their own transportation and accommodation for stays outside the camp dates.

We will not be accommodating walk-in participants for a number of reasons, one of which is that the hotel charges us by the pax for facility usage and does not distinguish between staying guests or walk-in guests.

If you are interested in the talks at all, we would like to strongly encourage you sign up as a full camper experiencing the added blessing of fellowship with like minded brethren. If there is anything hindering you from joining us fully and you would like to discuss the matter with the committee, feel free to reach out to us.

As a church camp, our schedule will centre around the five Camp Talks by our guest speaker. Outside of the talks, there will be discussion groups, meals, games and sports, and free time for social activities and fellowship.

No, only children ages 4 and above will be charged.

For bedding, we are pleased to inform that Grand Kampar Hotel has kindly offered 5 free baby cots for infants, this will be available on a first come, first served basis.

For toddlers who require small mattresses, the hotel can provide them at a fee of RM105. However, parents may opt to bring their own bedding if they prefer.

To reiterate, the student rate for this camp is RM290 and is applicable to any student up to tertiary level. It is mutually exclusive with the family discount and cannot be stacked.

If you are registering as a student, please select “1 Adult” and you will get a checkbox to indicate you’re a student within the middle of the form. Do note that when selecting this option, you will be assigned to quad sharing and your room-mates will be assigned by the committee.

If you have a specific group you wish to room with, you will still sign up individually for the discount to apply, but at the end of the form there will be a remarks field where you can specify your desired room-mates (limited to quad sharing). You may room with other non-students, but they will also have to sign up with the “1 Adult” option and remark their grouping with you.

The structure of the fees has been set by the committee with the goal of only recovering costs, and even then, only loosely. Additionally, do check if you are eligible for the discounts provided.

Having said that, we understand that some may still find the fees unaffordable. We intend for this camp to be accessible to all who wish to attend, so the committee has set aside some funds to sponsor campers who are genuinely needful of help. If you think you are one such individual, you may reach out to us to discuss the matter further.

There are no officially chartered transportation options. We expect campers will be travelling from various places in and outside the Klang Valley with varying schedules and travel preferences.

As such, campers who are undecided about transportation are encouraged to explore carpooling efforts or options such as the ETS train to Kampar (campers to cover their own ticket fares). If you have further questions about this, feel free to contact the committee, we will try our best to help you.

Some of the key people in this year’s committee are from GRC. If you are a regular attendee at our church, you can look for Stephen Leong, Aaron Loh, or Yong Chang Yi to discuss any questions you have.

If you are not a regular attendee and are not familiar with any of these individuals, you can send your question to our contact form, we will get in touch with you from there.

About the speaker

Craig Baxter is the Lead Pastor of Hills Bible Church, a Reformed Baptist church situated in the east of Melbourne, Australia, where he has served as pastor since 2018.

After pastoring at Grace Bible Church in New Jersey, USA, he moved back to Melbourne to pastor at HBC. Craig has a passion for the expository preaching of God’s Word, the shepherding of Christ’s church and the raising up and sending out of godly men and women who have a fearless desire to make Christ known among the nations.
