Grace Reformed Church holds to the 1689 Second London Baptist Confession Of Faith, which would mean we are a Reformed (or Particular) Baptist church in principle and practice. You can check our website’s Our Beliefs page for more details on what that entails.
With that said, we fundamentally see ourselves as a local church that is a small part of the Church that Jesus promised to build and establish for His glory and for His name’s sake (Matthew 16:18)
Our Sunday service starts at 11:00AM. We gather together to worship God by singing, reading the Bible and hearing it preached, and fellowshipping with one another.
In worship, we adhere to the regulative principle and emphasise on expository preaching.
On the first Sunday of each month, we observe the Lord’s Supper to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection until He comes again.
For more details, you can visit our Life At GRC page.
At GRC, the Lord’s Table is open to all baptised believers in the Lord Jesus Christ who are not under any form of church discipline.
If you are unsure if you should partake in this ordinance, we encourage you to first seek any of our elders for clarification.
People of all ages attend Grace Reformed Church. We serve mainly the local population of Subang Jaya and Petaling Jaya, seeing various families and individuals from the aforementioned areas in regular attendance. We believe there is a place for everyone in the church.
Apart from our corporate worship, we also have a fellowship lunch that follows immediately after the service. Food will be provided by the church, so all are welcome to join and take the opportunity to get to know one another over a meal.
On the first Sunday of the month at 9:30AM, we gather for the Corporate Prayer Meeting where one of our elders will give a short exhortation before select men will pray for specific needs of the church and other matters of concern in and around our community.
We also conduct an all-age Bible Study every Sunday at 2:00PM after the fellowship lunch, during which we cover certain books of the Bible in depth, and occasionally topics such as specific doctrines, church history, Christian living, ethics, and other contemporary issues of relevance.
As GRC practices formal membership, the privilege of serving regularly in the church’s various ministries is primarily reserved for members. However, anyone attending is welcomed to serve informally whenever help is needed or requested by the church.
In exceptional cases, the church may consult or engage non-members to assist in specific ministry tasks that require their unique expertise.
If you desire to serve regularly, we encourage you to first consider applying for membership. Committing to a local church is the first step in formal service to the body, as it publicly associates you with the gathering of local believers here at GRC.
While we do not have an enforced dress code, attires vary between smart-casual to formal.
Nevertheless, we encourage you to wear your Sunday best to worship our Creator.
Our church is located in Bandar Sunway – our address and Google Maps location can be found in our Contact Us page.
Travelling here by car or motorbike should not be much trouble, as there are ample parking spaces in front of the church on Sundays.
We are also within walking-distance from Sunway BRT line’s Mentari Station, for those who prefer to travel by public transport.
While we live-streamed in the past for those who were unable to attend church due to the pandemic, we are persuaded that this hindrance is now no longer widespread, and thus we have discontinued our live-streams.
We therefore encourage you to consider attending our service in person to experience the full blessing of worshiping together with the saints on our Lord’s Day (Hebrews 10:24-25).
However, our sermons are still being recorded and we publish them on our YouTube channel every Monday.
We sing both traditional and contemporary psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. Our selection chiefly intends to exalt God while also edifying believers and evangelising unbelievers through expressing truths from Scripture.
We mainly use the piano and guitar for accompaniment. However, we believe the most important instrument is that of congregational singing.
We have Sunday School which starts at 09:30AM every Sunday, open to children ages 6-12. Children are taught Bible stories from both the Old and New Testament.
We have a few groups that gather during the mid-week to do Bible study and fellowship, but they are formed organically based on the current needs of the members and visitors.
The elders maintain oversight over these small groups and will typically assign mature members to lead them while also advising on the materials to cover.
If you are interested to join a mid-week gathering, do approach any of the Office-Bearers and they should be able to point you to an appropriate group to join.
As a Reformed (Particular) Baptist Church, we hold to Believer’s Baptism (Credo-Baptism), meaning baptism is administered by immersion to those who make a credible profession of faith. We also hold to a Regenerate Membership, where we believe a local church comprises local believers who publicly associate with one another. Therefore, baptism is closely followed by admission into membership.
If you have repented of your sin and professed faith in Jesus Christ, and now desire to be baptised, or if you have already been baptised by immersion and want to transfer or apply for membership (in the case where your previous church does not practice formal membership), please reach out to any of our Office Bearers to begin the application process. You will be guided on the next steps, which may include regular meetings with an elder for a period of time to discuss and clarify the matter.
For more details on these practices, you can read Articles 4 and 8 of our Constitution.
Prior to our church’s relocation to Bandar Sunway, we used to gather at Bandar Puchong Utama under the name of Puchong Grace Church. Given our previous name’s association to its location, our move prompted a change in our name.
